Our story

Why this, why now.

Argus Data Labs exists because the most valuable data in global trade was never written down. The people who hold it have never had a safe way to share it.

Why this

The judgment was never captured.

Every shipment generates decisions: this value is wrong, this HS code will get held at the port, amend the invoice not the LC. That reasoning lives inside trade practitioners: freight forwarders, customs brokers, people who have cleared ten thousand shipments. It was never written down as data. Argus Data Labs is the supply chain for that judgment: practitioners annotate real exceptions against a fixed taxonomy, a different practitioner cross-verifies, and every record carries the decision, the evidence, the reasoning, and the outcome, structured for training.

We are built contributor-first. Identities are redacted your way, item by item, before anything is shared. Prices, quantities, and charges stay. They're the signal. Names never enter the corpus.

Why now

Models hit the judgment wall.

Frontier AI can read every trade document ever written. What it cannot do is make the call a veteran forwarder makes in thirty seconds. That gap between reading documents and making decisions is where the next generation of AI capability comes from, and the labs training reasoning models are starved for exactly this: verified human judgment, with decisions, evidence, and outcomes attached.

The supply and the demand matured at the same time. Argus Data Labs is being built in that window.

Who's building this

A practitioner, not a spectator.

Mashruf Habib has spent 16+ years inside supply chains. Not studying them. Working them. He founded a commercial airline at 24. He took apparel sourcing from $3.5M to $52M in annual GMV with Fortune 500 brands. Clinker out of Vietnam, cotton out of Ghana, aviation parts out of the US. Exports moving across the US, EU, and ASEAN to retailers and brands. Aviation, textiles, cement, gaming, DTC: end-to-end supply chain, factory floor to last mile, across multiple industries and continents. He ships working infrastructure solo with AI tooling in days, not quarters.
